A Nigerian DJ found dead at his home in Turkey


A Nigerian man has been found dead in his apartment at Şişli  Mecidiyeköy with his hands and feet tied from behind. He has been identified as Emmanuel İfeanyi Okonyia (EmmyJay), who was a DJ at night clubs, and was tortured before being killed.

The incident occurred in Mecidiyeköy Mahallesi Ahu Sokak. According to the reports in local Turkish media, the owner of the apartment where Emmanuel İfeanyi Okonyia, who is a DJ in night clubs, has been calling her tenant for a couple of days and asked for help from the real estate agent when she could not reach her tenant. Opening the door with his own key of the apartment, the real estate agent saw Okonyia motionless in the living room with his hands and feet tied behind with a cable. Closing the door with a panic, the real estate agent came out and called the landlord and explained the situation.


Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene after the landlady was informed. The medical teams, who entered with the police, confirmed that Emmanuel İfeanyi Okonyia was already dead.

Report has it that he might have been tortured before he was eventually killed.
