Encourage native language, Reno Omkri advises Africans

Nigerian Author and convener of the free Leah sharibu movement, Reno Omkri is of the opinion that in the next 20 years native language in most African countries may be a thing of the past if right action is not put in place.
Sharing a post on his Facebook, he wrote

"Dear African,

Speak your native language to your children or watch it die within the next 20 years. looking down on your relatives who speak your native tongue because you speak perfect English is stupid. It is like being proud of borrowed clothes. Go to Ethiopia, they speak Amharic, they use their ancient Ethiopian calendar (it is 2013 in Ethiopia), and they use their own ancient Ethiopian time system (the 12 hour clock system). They have their own alphabets and numbers. All schools teach in Amharic. Yet, Ethiopia is the FASTEST GROWING ECONOMY in Africa and the third fastest in the WORLD. You that speak perfect English, French, and Portuguese, where has it taken you? Speaking Queens English does not make an Africa either English or the Queen. It just makes you a very good copy of the original. Why not be a very good original of your own language? "
